Writing is good.
It’s not only therapeutic as a creative outlet, but writing with purpose (to help others in recovery by sharing our experience, strength and hope) helps us to sort out our thoughts on recovery, remind us of how far we’ve come, get real, express ourselves and reach out to others at the same time.
Pretty sweet, right?
Well, here’s the thing. We want you to write with us at that sober life. If you have a story to share, an expert opinion or any type of encouragement directly related to addiction and recovery, we need you!
We have two types of authors here:
- The ‘once’ or ‘once in a while’ author who submits articles or a testimony as they feel inspired. (free verse, poetry or lyrics are also welcome).
- The weekly column writer. Whether you’re a recovered addict, a physician, a therapist, or a professional in the field of addiction and recovery, we’d love to have you!
Simply send your 500-700 word article to email@example.com. If it needs to be shortened or edited for grammar, we’ll go ahead and do that for you (but we promise not to tamper with the message or story). Then we’ll contact you with the good news that you’re being published. We don’t publish anonymous work, so we’ll need your name and a pic if you have one (a link to your favorite Facebook profile pic is just fine). Plus, you’ll be able to link back to your website or social media platform at the end of the article (under your name). If you work or volunteer in the recovery niche, this will help your event, business, or website get some traction!
